SUMMARY:CSU Community Dance Workshop — Virtual
DESCRIPTION:In place of Drop-In Dance this semester\, we will offer a virtu
 al CSU Community Dance Workshop led by dance majors. Classes will be offer
 ed on Sept.29\, Oct. 1\, and Oct. 6 from 4:15-5 p.m.\, and new content 
 from 5-5:45 p.m. This class is open to CSU faculty\, staff\, and current s
 tudents only — Thank you!\n\nWe hope CSU faculty and staff will join us 
 from home (family members welcome). No prior dance experience needed! Emai

 Attire\nDress to move (athletic or gym wear) with ballet slippers\, jazz s
 hoes\, modern toe paws\, non-grip socks\, or barefoot.\nItinerary\nSEPTEMB
 ER 29\n\n\n\nDay One\nThis beginning level modern class will be centered a
 round finding breath and weight to release tension\, encouraging dancers t
 o move more efficiently. We will explore these ideas alongside technical c
 oncepts such as head-tail connection and proper pelvis and foot alignment.
  In the final combination\, students will be asked to explore their own pe
 rsonal narratives and push their artistry while utilizing the technical co
 ncepts presented in the class.\n\nMoving 'Swiftly' Through Small Spaces 
 — Contemporary Ballet\nThis class is centered around building strength\,
  stability\, and musicality in order to individually develop a beginner le
 vel connection between ballet technique and contemporary artistry.\n\nOCTO
 BER 1\n\nCommunity Jazz\nExploring beginner level jazz technique.  Throug
 h a warmup\, technical skills combinations\, and a short final dance\, stu
 dents will develop skills such as footwork\, balancing\, and isolations.\n
 \nBeginner Jazz Class\nThroughout our jazz class we will tailor combinatio
 ns to work on isolations\, performance quality\, and give opportunities to
  have students learn to use their body in a cohesive manner.\n\nOCTOBER 6\
 n\nMovin’ and Groovin’\nThis class is designed to work on strength\, c
 oordination\, flexibility\, and confidence\, giving dancers a taste of bal
 let and modern training. Dancers will experience a warm-up\, technique wor
 k\, a final combination\, and will end with a cool down. Let’s get our g
 roove on!\n\nJazz Dance\nThis class will introduce beginner level jazz tec
 hnique by progressing through a warm-up\, technical exercises\, and a fina
 l combination. It is appropriate for all age groups and experience levels.
