SUMMARY:Fall 2024 Dance Capstone Concert
DESCRIPTION:[Re] framed embodies themes of individuality\, choice\, connect
 ion\, and growth. Exploring a vast array of lived experiences\, five senio
 r dance majors come together to create a lexicon of physical expressivity.
  Their choreography urges audiences to reflect on themselves\, their commu
 nities\, and to find the groove within continuous change. Join CSU Dance i
 n celebrating Chalina Caton Garcia\, Hector Gandara\, Camryn Martin\, Layl
 a McRae\, and Brianna Smith as they premiere their capstone dance concert.
 \n\nFeatured Choreographers:\n\nChalina Caton Garcia\nChalina’s work exp
 lores the concepts of independence\, individual force\, and the power of c
 hoice. It challenges the viewer to consider the juxtaposition of a longing
  for autonomy with a desire for connection. This current creation moves to
  highlight unique skillsets through a fusion of styles and a collaborative
  process.\n\nHector Gandara\nHector’s choreography tells the story of lo
 nging for change and breaking from repetitive struggle. In his piece\, he 
 delves deep into the connection between emotions and movement. Through a s
 eries of rhythmic shapes and patterns\, Hector represents unique capabilit
 ies for dance to transcend words.\n\nCamryn Martin\nCamryn’s choreograph
 y examines individuality and how each person’s set of life experiences c
 ombine to make them whole. Her work considers how we find similarities and
  where our interpersonal connections create new\, meaningful exchanges. Ca
 mryn’s work aspires to bring extreme beauty and power to life.\n\nLayla 
 McRae\nThis focused collection of movements explores the vulnerability of 
 various life phases. Raw emotion and powerful dancing leads audiences thro
 ugh confronting and overcoming hardships\, cherishing important connection
 s\, finding inner peace\, and moving towards the future with strength. The
  work’s message is revealed through intensive choreography and passion o
 n stage.\n\nBrianna Smith\nBrianna’s work investigates the struggle to a
 chieve self-confidence through life’s tribulations. The choreography mod
 els the progressive growth discovered when self-worth is found within our 
 innate qualities. Brianna’s work proposes a nurturing and supportive com
 munity\, in which we can discover confidence in our own capabilities and c
 an bring out the strengths of those around us.
