DESCRIPTION:Directed by Judy Bejarano\n\nThe fall dance concert features th
 e creative work of the dance faculty\, Grace Gallagher\, Matthew Harvey\, 
 and Joy Prendergast. Student-choreographed selections are featured\, as we
 ll as the creation of the artist director of the Equus Projects since 1999
 \, choreographer and guest artist JoAnna Mendl Shaw.\nAbout JoAnna Mendl S
 haw\nJoAnna Mendl Shaw is an internationally recognized choreographer and 
 dance educator whose unique inter-species approach to movement education a
 nd choreography has influenced dancers throughout the States and Europe.\n
 \nShaw's site works for The Equus Projects bring dancers and horses into s
 hared landscapes in works made for festivals\, arts presenters\, equine ve
 nues\, and museums. Equus has created works in 21 States and in Europe. Th
 e Equus Projects' OnSite NYC series has brought kinetic invention into urb
 an landscapes.\n\nShaw is the recipient of two NEA Choreographic Fellowshi
 ps and 2018 and 2019 National Endowment for the Arts Interdisciplinary gra
 nts for her multi-year creation projects in the Pullman District of South 
 Chicago.\n\nShaw travels nationally and internationally teaching\, choreog
 raphing\, and directing. Her career as an educator includes faculty positi
 ons at NYU Tisch\, Juilliard and in the Ailey Fordham BFA program\, Montcl
 air State\, Marymount Manhattan\, Princeton\, and Mount Holyoke College\, 
 at the Bates Dance Festival\, Swamp Dance Festival\, Florida Dance Festiva
 l\, Heifetz International Music Festival.\n\nShaw has taught and choreogra
 phed in Hungary\, Japan\, Korea\, Canada\, Croatia\, Scotland\, Sweden\, S
 witzerland\, and Wales. Her interdisciplinary approach to the creative pro
 cess has brought innovative programming into athletics\, medical training\
 , corporate team building\, ad agencies\, and strategic decision-making te
 ams.
