 hang\n\nRat\, an Opera is a collaborative project directed by Ms. Sarah Z
 wick-Tapley\, created in partnership with two students from the CSU Honors
  Program. The piece centers on the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act and highligh
 ts the powerful story of Wong Kim Ark\, a Chinese-American citizen who cou
 rageously challenged the law. His efforts ultimately contributed to the af
 firmation of the 14th Amendment\, securing birthright citizenship for all 
 individuals born in the United States.
