SUMMARY:Spring Dance Capstone Concert
DESCRIPTION:Unearthed: A Revealing Collection of Movement Stories\n\nUneart
hed is a dance concert featuring the choreographic creations of Adrienne F
 risbee\,\nElise Gusinde-Duffy\, Abbey Mann\, Binyamin Salzano\, and Molly
Strader. This concert includes\nan eclectic blend of contemporary and ball
et styles. Each work showcases personal stories of\nheartbreak\, trauma\,
and experiences of the artist\, while ultimately pointing toward the light
of\nhope. The Senior Dance Capstone Concert is the culmination of many ye
ars of rigorous work in\nthe Dance Major Program. Each choreographer has p
oured their heart and soul into works that\nrepresent deep aspects of thei
 r own identity.\n\nFeatured Choreographers\n\nAdrienne Frisbee\n\nAdrienne
’s work integrates inspiration from multiple types of relationships a pe
rson may\nexperience throughout life and how these experiences cultivate y
our own identity.\nDancers will portray a collection of stories that are i
nspired by Adrienne’s own\nexperiences and observations of the people ar
ound her. Adrienne’s choreography aims to\ncreate a meaningful experienc
 e full of relatability.\n\nElise Gusinde-Duffy\n\nElise’s work explores
the dichotomy between the expectations of adulthood and the\nexistence of
the inner child. Using contrasting movement qualities\, the choreography\n
shows the composed functionality of grown-ups versus the raw\, pure emotio
ns and\nreactions of children\, resolving with the understanding that both
are valid and important\naspects of being human. The group and solo piece
s represent the ongoing journey that is\nthe search for balance and accept
ance.\n\nAbbey Mann\n\nAbbey’s work features three sections that reflect
personal seasons of hardship. The\nmovement stories showcase the process
of finding truth and freedom. Abbey’s\nchoreography is mainly contempora
ry ballet\, including pointe work and partnering as\nwell. Her work conclu
des with a solo highlighting the joy found in abandon and\nsurrender.\n\nB
inyamin Salzano\n\nBinyamin’s work integrates principles of genetics and
molecular biology with authentic\nvisceral movement to question unifying
human experiences and expose integral elements\nof Life Itself. His choreo
 graphy explores conformity\, individuality\, community\, and\npersonal liv
ed experience\, from the darkest depths to where the light gets in.\n\nMol
ly Strader\n\nMolly's work explores the impact of different kinds of relat
ionships we experience in life.\nThrough three pieces of music\, four danc
ers will portray three different relationship\ndynamics through partner wo
rk inspired by her life experiences. An intimate look into\nlife's history
\; Molly hopes to take the audience on an emotional journey.
