The FOLKLORICA Master Class, lead by Sara Roybal, is possible by a grant awarded to CSU Dance for diversity dance training.
Sara Roybal received her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance with a secondary emphasis in Ethnic Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Currently she is an independent artist focused on choreographing in the Chicana aesthetic. Her research and techniques focus in Mexican folklore, modern, Latin social, hip hop, and post-modern genres. She focuses on the historical impetus of Mexican folklore in the U.S.A., and its growth and development of the cultural representation of it today through a Chicana lens.
