Dance Visit Experience: A Day in the Life of a Dance Major

We look forward to meeting you at an upcoming on-campus visit. Prospective students (high school juniors, seniors, transfer students, and CSU students) will meet dance faculty and current dance majors.

The Dance Visit Day Experience is a chance to experience our curriculum and community firsthand. The schedule includes an overview of our dance program, technique classes, interviews with CSU Dance faculty, and a performance by current Dance majors. Attendees should come prepared with a short solo, which can be the same solo used for the dance major audition you submit in Acceptd, but it will not be evaluated in person. Instead, dancers will work in small groups to perform these solos and receive feedback from CSU Dance faculty and students. Attendees will also collaborate on a group choreography project and have opportunities to ask questions throughout the day.

You'll also be able to have your dance major audition interview with faculty while on campus.

This in-person experience is designed to emulate parts of CSU Dance major courses such as Dance Techniques and Dance Choreography I. Prospective students will spend time learning, discussing, performing, and creating in a community that values humility, compassion, and curiosity.
