Spring Dance Capstone Concert: To Be Seen

Colorado State University’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance returns to the stage with an evocative series of choreographic works created and performed by senior dance majors Claire Forden, Madison Hard, Kimberly Mayorga, and Micaela Oar. Through deeply personal movement and storytelling, these artists explore themes of connection, vulnerability, identity, and the human desire to be seen and understood.
Claire Forden’s piece reflects on the many forms relationships can take and the lessons they leave behind, exploring both the vulnerability of connection and the strength found in recognizing patterns of attachment. Madison Hard’s choreography explores the emotional experience of holding onto something that was never truly yours, portraying the vulnerable struggle of letting go while leaving behind emotional “claw marks” of an unresolved moment. Kimberly Mayorga’s capstone is a continuation of a film she produced about her parents’ immigration story, weaving together their voices and her own to honor and reflect on the roots that have shaped her identity. Micaela Oar’s work examines the internal and external struggle of performing for validation and praise, questioning how the need to be seen by others shapes self-worth and relationships.
Join us for an evening of compelling movement and powerful storytelling as these emerging artists share work that reflects both personal experience and universal human emotion. Celebrate the transformative power of dance and the voices of the next generation of artists in Colorado State University’s Senior Capstone Concert, To Be Seen.
