A Sneak Peek into CSU Dance to Welcome Spring Season
The Dance program at Colorado State University is proud to continue its annual Spring Dance Tea tradition on Wednesday April 1 at 3:30 p.m. in the University Dance Theater at the University Center for the arts, located at 1400 Remington St.
The event is free and open to the public.
The annual Spring Dance Tea is an informal performance event that allows the CSU dance department to connect to the public, as well as give a sneak peek at what they have been working on for their spring dance concerts.
Refreshments will be provided prior to the performance, which will be followed by a meet and greet where the audience will be given a chance to talk to students about their work, the performance, and any plans or goals the students might have following their time at CSU.
“The program includes a compilation of student work as well as some faculty previews,” Alex Ader, dance major, said. “It’s fun to do an informal showcase of the stuff we’ve been working on.”
Some of the CSU dance faculty will perform previews of what they are currently preparing and guest artist, Hsin-Yu Kao from Taiwan, will choreograph a special piece for the event.
As CSU’s artist in residence this spring, courtesy of AIR Taipei, Mr. Hsin-Yu Kao is currently working with dance classes and choreographing for the Spring Dance Concert on April 10 & 11.
“It’s springtime! It’s a great way in which we invite people over to the UCA for some fun and performances,” noted Jane Slusarski-Harris, CSU’s director of dance. “It’s a wonderful time to showcase our students and give people an opportunity to learn more about our program.”
