Marketing & Publicity Internship

Position SummaryThe Marketing and Publicity Intern will gain hands-on experience creating professional marketing pieces for University Center for the Arts (UCA) events. This individual will work with the UCA marketing team to publicize events through various media, such as the Web, print, social media, and additional outlets. This position will allow the student to expand his or her professional portfolio while working in a vibrant, creative atmosphere.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Publicity Assistant in development of event marketing and communications plans.
  • Assist with fulfillment of publicity calendar for UCA events.
  • Assist with writing press releases and special interest stories.
  • Manage the department’s presence in various social media environments, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr.
  • Attend performance and rehearsals for live performance reporting.
  • Write social media feature content, including interviews with faculty and students.
  • Proofread and edit projects.
  • Assist with on-campus marketing efforts (LSC screens, table tents, and posters)
  • Uphold college and university branding and communications guidelines.
  • Additional communications, marketing, and event-related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current CSU student, available Fall of 2014
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Copy editing ability
  • Proficiency in social media marketing
  • Experience with video editing and/or broadcast journalism a plus
  • Ability to excel in a collaborate, team-oriented environment and work independently
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to detail
  • Interns are eligible to receive course credit

Graphic Design Internship

Position Summary:

The Graphic Design Intern will gain hands-on experience developing print and online marketing pieces for University Center for the Arts (UCA) events. This individual will work with the UCA marketing team to create professional, eye-catching designs that reflect the creative nature of the college.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Publicity Assistant in development of event marketing and communications materials.
  • Work with artists and directors in the design process of marketing materials as needed, including posters, fliers, digital screens, and social media.
  • Uphold college and university branding guidelines.
  • Additional communications, marketing, and event-related duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Current CSU student, available Fall of 2014
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and work independently
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to detail
  • Creative
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Interns are eligible to receive course credit
