Rat, an Opera is a collaborative project directed by Ms. Sarah Zwick-Tapley, created in partnership with two students from the CSU Honors Program. The piece centers on the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act and highlights the powerful story of Wong Kim Ark, a Chinese-American citizen who courageously challenged the law. His efforts ultimately contributed to the affirmation of the 14th Amendment, securing birthright citizenship for all individuals born in the United States.
