CSU Dance Professor Chung-Fu Chang named 2021 Legends of Dance honoree
In March, the board of The Dance Archive announced that Professor Chung-Fu Chang was named a 2021 Legends of Dance. The board received nine nominations reflecting the thriving Colorado dance community.
The six honorees will be celebrated in a ceremony on Oct. 17, 2021.
Since 2004, the Friends of The Dance Archive at the University of Denver Libraries has worked to preserve the rich dance heritage of Colorado, selecting nominated individuals to join the ranks of dance legends in the state each year.
“We are thrilled to be honoring this incredible group of dancers, dance educators, choreographers, and philanthropists. This year especially, when performing arts has faced so many challenges, it’s more important than ever to honor those who keep finding ways to create, share, and support dance,” said Kate Crowe, curator of The Dance Archive.
Honorees will give oral history interviews, which will be added to The Dance Archive’s extensive collection; highlights will be presented during the award ceremony.
"We are thrilled to see Chung-Fu recognized in this way. His contributions are great, and his passion for dance shows in all that he does." said Emily Morgan, director of CSU Dance. "We are so proud to have him here at CSU!"
