NEA grant brings Urban Bush Women to CSU

In 2021, CSU Dance and director or dance, Emily Morgan, received a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, which funded multiple engagement opportunities with Urban Bush Women. (urbanbushwomen.org) In Oct. 2021, the department hosted a UBW BOLD residency. According to the organization's website, "BOLD (Builders, Organizers, & Leaders through Dance) has been at the forefront of activating the intersections of professional and community art-making, civic engagement, leadership, and group dynamics for over two decades."

Selecting from a menu of offerings, the residency included a master class for dance majors, a workshop for CSU faculty/staff, “Entering, Building, and Exiting Community,” and a workshop for the Fort Collins community, “Mindful Bodies & Reflective Practices.”
